Jamia Hamdard University

The history of Jamia Hamdard University begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed. He had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline. He gave the name "Hamdard" (sympathy for all and sharing of pain). His son, Hakeem Abdul Hameed, carried ahead the philosophy and objectives of Hamdard. Gradually, it got the status Deemed to be University on 10th May, 1989. It is mainly a university for Unani Medicine and Islamic Studies.

But it has got a very important place in providing education in Information Technology, Computer Applications and Business Management. It offers BTech, BSc, MTech, MSc and PhD in Computer Science & Information Technology. It conducts its own entrance examination for its engineering programs.

Jamia Hamdard University has not any engineering college affiliate to it. But, it has its own Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology which conducts Entrance Exam to select candidates to its BTech, BSc, MTech, MSc and PhD courses. The information bulletin and application material can be obtained from the counter in person and by post on payment of required amount. All payments should be done by DD in favor of the university. Eligibility:
Candidates who have passed 10+2 level exam and not more than 23 years can apply for BTech & BSc and who have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Application/ Information Technology/Electronics or BSc/BA with Mathematics or Statistics at graduate level are eligible to apply for MTech and MSc. Candidates with MTech or MSc in the concerned subject can apply for PhD.

Admission Criteria and Eligibility:
For an undergraduate course, the candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 in science from any recognized Central/state board. The candidates should have cleared their BE/BTech from any recognized University or Institution for admission in ME/MTech program. The candidates have to appear its Combined Entrance Exam for undergraduate programs.
