Jamia Millia University, a Central University, has 29 departments and 121 courses are offered at the graduation and post- graduation levels. The number of students registered with the University is around 14,000, the strength of the teaching faculty is 612.

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Jamia Millia University, established in 1985, had only Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments earlier. Now it has five engineering departments as Applied Sciences & Humanities, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications, Mechanical Engineering and a University Polytechnic.

Types of Engineering Courses:
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of JMU offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs. Its undergraduate programs include B.Tech. & BE in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Engineering; B Arch. It also offers postgraduate program, M.Tech (Electrical Power Systems Management), M.Tech (Environmental Science and Engineering), M.Sc (Electronics) and MBA.Its Polytechnic offers Day and Evening courses for Diploma in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Admission Criteria:
Candidates should have passed 10+2 level Exam in science or its equivalent from any recognized board for undergraduate course and B.Tech/B.E for M.Tech and M.Sc.

Admission Procedure:
Candidates are required to submit the prescribed Application Form which can be collected from the University on payment of the required fees, or it can be downloaded from the official website and submitted. The candidates are required to appear at an Entrance Test followed by an Interview and, a Group Discussion in some specific courses.
